Confidence

Confidence is something we all need to have.  It helps our outlook on life.  It helps us raise strong, confident children.  It helps us to love what God has created.  Here are some tips to help you gain the confidence you deserve.

Dress Well-- While clothes do not make a person who they are they sure do make them feel better.  I have said it before.  When you look good, you feel good.  You don't need to spend a fortune on clothes.  I heard a quote once that said, "Spend twice as much, buy half as much."  There is no need to buy a lot of cheap clothes that don't look great and don't fit your body.  Buy a few good quality pieces that you can mix and match with other things.  Also, more expensive clothes last longer so you don't have to go shopping as much.

Walk with a Purpose- People with confidence have a little pick up in their step.  Walking just a little faster will help you look better and feel better.

Be Complimentary--When complimenting people, do it sincerely.  Don't offer compliments because you think it is what people want to hear.  Every person you see has something good about them.  Find that thing you like in another and tell them.  Seeing the good in others will help you see the good in yourself.

Have Gratitude-- Set aside time every day to list the things you are grateful for, even if that is that you just made it through the day.  It will amaze you how much you have to be grateful for and how that helps you confidence and outlook on life.

Work Out-- Exercise releases endorphins.  Endorphins make people happy.  You will feel better about your body, have more energy, and have a sense of accomplishment.

Acts of Service-- When you are serving others, you feel good.  Focusing on others helps so you don't focus on your own flaws.  Making others happy will make you happy.

"You can even say that I hated myself at certain periods. I was too fat, or maybe too tall, or maybe just plain too ugly ... you can say my definiteness stems from underlying feelings of insecurity and inferiority. I couldn't conquer these feelings by acting indecisive. I found the only way to get the better of them was by adopting a forceful, concentrated drive." Audrey Hepburn

What are some tips you use to help you feel confident?

THis is great! I agree, dressing up and looking good definitely boosts your self-esteem. I know I have lower confidence when I'm sportin'my sweats and an old tshirt (although, it is quite comfy!). And exercise is key...even if it's only 20 minutes...you feel so much better!!!
